For 15 years, ChimMaya Gallery provided a venue for established and emerging artists to exhibit their artwork, featuring changing exhibitions and events throughout the year. With four separate/distinctive gallery spaces under one roof, we were able to present varied ‘themed’ and ‘solo artists’ exhibits simultaneously.
Located in the Los Angeles area our vision was/is, fundamentally rooted in showcasing the many facets of culture, society, humanity, and the changing attitudes and acceptance of global diversity.
2019 – In December after much consideration, we closed ChimMaya to take a break from the day-to-day management of running/operating an art gallery.
Our intent was to reopen the gallery in early Summer 2020, but due to the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19 and the eventual lockdowns in California, we put aside our timeline of reopening the gallery, and patiently waited for life to normalize again.
2021 – With the rollout of COVID vaccinations, we are hopeful that the direction for the pandemic is changing and our ‘new goal’ is to reopen in Fall/September.
Until we locate a new physical location for the gallery, ChimMaya is relaunching online in a new platform – CM2 Arts – that will showcase many of the artists our gallery is ‘best’ known for, with an intent to broaden, and expand, the diversity of our artist base, and the theme/style of artworks we exhibit.
CM2 Arts – was conceived of, and created, as a ‘cultural hub’ that will showcase….art, trends in color, furnishings, cultural/community events….etc.
ChimMaya represented ‘community’ to so many of our clients/followers/supporters, and our intent is to recreate that experience as best we can online.
